Chinese Hummer - DongFeng (East Wind) EQ2050 - Despite people calling it a fake Hummer, the DongFeng EQ2050 is actually a licensed copy built in China with imported parts from AM General and Cummins! The DFM EQ2050 is powered by a Dongfeng licensed built Cummins EQB150-20 110kW/2,700R turbo-charged diesel, but it can also be fitted with the U.S.-made V8 diesel originally designed for HMMWV. The EQ2050 also has re-designed lights and radiator to make itself look different from the original HMMWV.

Chinese Hummer - DongFeng EQ2050 - During the 1988 Beijing Defence Exhibition, AM General demonstrated an example of its M998 4x4 high-mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle (HMMWV) to the People's Liberation Army. The vehicle was reportedly left in China after the exhibition closed for further testing and evaluation. The PLA did not show much interest initially due to the vehicle’s high unit price and maintenance costs, but this attitude was somehow changed during the 1991 Operation Desert Storm, when the HMMWV gained high publicity in front of press cameras.

Chinese Hummer - DongFeng EQ2050 - China's first Hummer is now available for semi-private use, which is for companies and government agencies in businesses as forest control, mining, geology and more of the rough stuff. Hubei TV, a local station from Hubei Province, found another good use for the Brave Soldier. The Brave Soldier costs around 150.000 US dollar in China, converting is would likely ad another 50.000. However, it is worth a few Yuan to have the news right from the epicenter. They better helicopter it in though; with the amount of fuel it uses every second it won't get far out of town.
